More teenagers and adults are choosing karate to get fit and stay fit
In order to prove themselves and be accepted by their peers, teenagers will sometimes adopt risky behaviours (such as bullying, street gangs, eating disorders, substance abuse, etc.). Even though they’ll often get short term gratification from it, these young people are actually putting their health and future at risk.
At our school, karate allows teenagers to channel their energy and power in a positive way and gain self confidence and self esteem. By training with other young karatekas, they make new friends. Before long, these young guys feel better in their body and in their head. They keep training, they even get to be on the competition team. Young guys? It certainly goes for girls as well!
By shifting from training routines at the gym to the karate dojo, many adults discover an excellent way to get fit and stay fit. Because our students train together and take promotion tests together, they soon develop a sense of belonging to the school and a link of mutual trust and aid among themselves – which is rather rare at the gym…
Most people find it difficult to motivate themselves to train regularly. Our students get the best of two worlds: they strive to meet individual challenges with the support of their training mates!
Thanks to Kanreikai karate, our teenaged and adult students benefit from a complete and efficient physical conditioning program within a community based on respect, transcendence … and friendship!
