November 7, 2009 - Hanshi Manny Matias of World Kanreikai Karate Headquarters hosted the third edition of the Kanreikai World Karate Championship in Danbury. For the first time, the Championship included kata, weapon kata and junior semi-knockdown fighting events during the day.

Charlotte Bate: 1st in Weapon Kata; 1st in Kata
The Knockdown Fighting Championship took place in the evening. Highly trained fighters from the USA, Canada, Poland and Chechnya offered a great show of skills, determination and courage to a crowd of martial arts enthusiasts. We are especially proud of Christopher Goncalves from World Kanreikai Headquarters who took the 1st place in the Men-Lightweight division.
